Littleborough

Ealees is a hamlet within Littleborough, a busy town lying at the foot of the Pennines. Until the building of the canal, Littleborough had been largely uninhabitable due to the marshy nature of the valley. Construction of the canal drained the valley and brought about the industrial changes that attracted the textile businesses to set up alongside the water supply and establish the community of Littleborough as it exists today.
